Deconstruction of an image

In this series, the artist’s continual delving into the expressiveness of a single structure takes on a whole new level of reflection and production by examining the possibilities of the format itself through the division of the image’s support. The works that compose this series, executed in enamel automotive paint on wood panels, examine the fragility of a

total, unique image through a construction based on parallel lines, which can be dismembered into pieces that are in turn autonomous, but that also carry the memory of the unity from which they emerged.

The possibilities of expression generated by this game are empowered by the arrangement they may adopt in different groups. These possibilities have been explored through multiple exhibitions. Likewise, the conjoined pieces as a whole constitute a great mural that was positioned at the entrance to Terrazas’s exhibition at Bellas Artes in 1972.
